A home should feel as good as it looks — comforting, supportive, and rooted in how you live.

I help you shape your space into something that feels just right, working with what you already have, embracing its quirks, and making it truly yours.

Hi, I’m Elena — the founder of Homemaking Studio. I’m an artist, art educator, and interior decorator — but really, I’m just someone who’s endlessly fascinated by how our spaces can make us feel things: cozy, inspired, calm, or just finally not annoyed by that weird corner you never knew what to do with.

Creativity has always been at the heart of what I do, and my path into interior decoration unfolded in the most personal — and slightly dramatic — way.

It all started on my birthday — and with a very overwhelmed two-seater sofa. I had somehow managed to squeeze eleven of my favourite people onto it, and when the twelfth friend made the bold move to sit down… well, the sofa gave up. Right then and there. Nothing says “welcome to your 30s” like a full furniture collapse mid-party.

But in the ruins of that poor sofa came a lightbulb moment. I wasn’t just shopping for a sturdier replacement — I was thinking: How do I want my home to hold the people I love? I started reimagining the space — not just to look good, but to feel warm, inviting, and ready for whatever life throws our way — including impromptu group hugs and surprise guests.

That moment sparked something bigger. Interior decoration began to feel like a natural extension of everything I was already doing — translating feeling into form. My background as an artist gave me an eye for color, balance, and beauty — and years of teaching art taught me how to really listen and help others express their vision — even if that vision starts with “I just want it to not feel off or disconnected anymore.”

What sets my work apart is that I design for real life — not the generic, not the showroom-perfect. I love working with pieces you already have and love — the ones that tell stories — and I bring them into a more polished, harmonious environment. Maybe it’s your mom’s bench, your grandma’s sewing machine, or the family photos that never quite found their place. I believe spaces should include everyone — function well for real needs — and still feel thoughtful, cohesive, and personal.

Because home shouldn’t feel awkward or not tied together — it should feel like you.

Let’s make something beautiful — and real — together.
